A day in Veliky Novgorod

Image
Once again, we left SPB in the tour bus. This time we drove a few hours to the city Veliky Novgorod Stopped at this place outside the city. It is a set up of how the city used to be and how they used to live a really long time ago. It happened to be the day of celebrating cabbage. A main staple in every Russian's diet. A Russian TV channel was doing a story for the news. We got to be in it! Click  here  to watch it. Some cute goats :) Click  here  to watch us ciee students do some Traditional Russian dancing.  Some delicious food we got to eat there. Another bus stop, by this lovely cathedral.  I loved being here. It was no longer big city, but just a church in a field. We made it to the city! Here is the wall surrounding it. Honestly one of the coldest days I experienced in Russia Inside the city! Beautiful fall time! I believe this was the first week of October. We got to go inside the famous St. Sophia C

Visiting Peterhof Palace

The end of September, we finally got to leave SPB for the first time and visit Peterhof palace and gardens The gardens, landscapes, streams, and palaces are all so beautiful. The tour group :) Inside one of the buildings where Peter the 1st used to come and spend evenings with his friends You can see the one sky scraper of SPB if you look across the sea There were several "Joke" fountains that only turned on randomly: courtesy of Peter the 1st ;) So pictured above, we were waiting, as one by one we chanced running across and getting wet Definitely one of my favorite days in Russia. Loved going to Petergof!
